Decorative RV Accessories
If you plan on spending a lot of time in your RV during the summer months, make it feel like your "home away from home" with decorative items. To get the most for your money and limited RV space, choose pieces that can work double duty if possible.
The good news is that you don't have to break your camping budget to work a few of these items into your RV, and if you purchase the right pieces, just a few will go a long way. When decorating your RV, consider sticking with an overall theme, such as a lake, beach, or rustic forest, to make the task easier.
Another way that you can choose decorative accessories for your RV is inspiration from your favorite hobbies, such as golf or kayaking, or your preferred color scheme. You can either keep with the decor theme of your home or go with something completely different in your RV.
When picking the perfect pieces, make sure they are rated for outdoor use, since they may be subjected to the elements while in the RV. Things like high humidity or heat can cause items to mold and mildew, so choose moisture-resistant fabrics and materials if possible.
Here are some decorative RV accessories to get you started:
1. Pillows and Throw Blankets
Not only will decorative pillows and blankets add a pop of color and visual interest to your motorhome, but they will also lend a comfortable touch as well. Place the pillows and blankets on beds, built-in couches, or chairs.
Pick textiles featuring colors or designs that match your decor theme. Some ideas include fish, lake, beach, moon and stars, dog, cat, or bird patterns. For a cohesive look, go with throw blankets in matching shades.
2. Lighting Elements
The right lighting elements will add much-needed light as well as plenty of ambiance to your RV. As one idea, buy rustic-looking wrought iron lanterns that you can either place on a kitchen table, by your bedside, or even hang on the wall. Not only will they look nice, but you can also walk around the space with them as needed.
String lights give any space a cozy, and sometimes romantic, feel. Pick either classic white string lights, or go with a color, such as blue or red, and wrap them around any beams, across walls, or even hang them from the ceiling.
You can also hang string lights outside, such as from an RV awning, to illuminate your outdoor space.
